Creating API Packages

A Package is a collection of Plans and is used to manage similar Plans with the objective of understanding usage patterns by different types of developers as well as aid in the upgrading/downgrading process. After creating a Package, you can set the notification settings and the key properties, both of which will be applicable to all Plans associated with the Package. After a Package is created, multiple Plans can be created in the Package.

To create an API Package:

  1. On the API Packages page, click add image.

  2. Enter the following details:

    FieldDescription
    Package NameName of the package, which can be modified later.
    DescriptionPackage description that states the purpose of the Package. You can also enter information about the possible usage of the Package.
    OrganizationName of the Organization that owns the Package. For more information about Organizations, see Organizations.

  3. Click Create.

    The API Package and Plan List page is displayed. For more information, see API Package & Plan List.
